A tremendous amount of time and resources have been invested in the New MCM RTL40Q model Rough Terrain Forklift. The RTL40Q model is arguably the strongest rough terrain forklift available on the South African market today.

The RTL40Q provides superior rough-terrain material handling capability thanks to its build strength, weight distribution, central articulation and all-terrain four-speed transmission that delivers high torque at low revs.

Featuring quick coupling ports, it takes a minute or two to change between implements, either mechanical or hydraulic-powered. The RTL40Q can be equipped with standard forks, side-shift forks as well as other attachments like a general purpose bucket attachment, sweepers, grapples and a long list of additional attachments.

THE RTL40Q ADVANTAGE

The RTL40Q features a two-speed clutch-pack with High-Low Gear Ratios all while being full 4WD, which is enough to climb mountains. This transmission puts the RTL40Q above all other rough terrain forklifts in the market. The RTL40Q’s transmission generates high-torque at low-revs, resulting in less power required to operate in rough and challenging terrains.

The RTL40Q can be equipped with a 0.5cbm standard general purpose bucket with either bolt-on teeth or a bolt-on flat cutting edge. This size class bucket is ideal for companies selling aggregates or companies who need to keep track of the load weight being loaded at any one time.

The RTL40Q is equipped with a Quick Hitch which enables the operator to change between Forks, Buckets, Sweepers, Clamps, Grapples and a long list of different attachments. Simply remove the two lock brackets, ensure the hydraulic couplings are disconnected and unhook from the attachment. This versatility is a big advantage of the RTL40Q 4WD Rough Terrain Forklift.

One machine that can be harnessed for various applications. Simply install a new attachment and your RTL40Q can tackle the task at hand.

The RTL40Q features two quick access doors on either side of the engine. Once open, the operator has complete access to the engine for pre-start checks. This optimal engine accessibility is also a big advantage when it comes to scheduled services or repairs.

The RTL40Q comes standard with solid tyres, but can be equipped with optional pneumatic tyres. Because of their toughness, reliability and long life, solid tyres are often the best choice when it comes to forklifts. Without a doubt, their biggest advantage is that they are non-pneumatic. In other words, there is no air in the tyre. And so, there are no worries when it comes to punctured tyres and blowouts.

Forklifts with solid tyres work some of the toughest environments. For instance, they are used in glass plants, lumber yards and scrap yards. Because of their airless design, they can sustain damage without needing to be immediately replaced. The result is less down time due to maintenance issues. In addition, solid tyres are able to handle higher weight loads than air-filled tires. More often than not, solid tyres are the best choice for industrial applications.

The RTL40Q comes standard equipped with the side shift function. The major advantage of side-shift is the ability to move the fork carriage without having to move the whole forklift. Some other benefits of side-shift include: Ability to shift loads in tight spaces and the precise moving of heavy loads and equipment.

The side shift function offers a number of advantages. Here are just a few;

    • Movement of loads in tight spaces without moving the whole forklift.
    • Precision of movement with loads.
    • Accurate alignment with pallets and crates.
    • Reduced damage to pallets, loads and racking.

It’s important to note though that when you have to attach a side shifter to a forklift, this will reduce the overall load capacity of the truck because the tool adds weight to the equipment and the load center is shifted outward.

The RTL40Q is equipped with a decent quality reverse camera which covers a broad view of the RTL40Q forklift’s rear section. The reverse camera increases operation safety and prevents collision or damage.

The RTL40Q can tow up to a weight of 2.6 tonnes and comes standard with a trailer hook. Both trailer hook types are available to suit the requirement of your trailer. Transport crates, pallets, and other goods on areas requiring a rough terrain machine.

The RTL40Q features lockable fuel and hydraulic tanks which prevent theft or asset sabotage.
